Senior Vice President Product Development Consulting and Non-Clinical Services
Dr. Madden is Senior Vice President, Product Development Consulting and Non-Clinical
Services and is responsible for the management and direction of ICON Development
Solutions’ product development consulting, CMC and preclinical and scientific teams.
Dr. Madden received his BS degree in chemistry and his PhD
in physical chemistry from the University of Wales, Swansea, UK
in 1979 and 1983 respectively. Dr. Madden then spent two years
as a Post Doctoral Fellow at San Diego State University, California.
His PhD and research focused on adsorption mechanisms in High Performance
Liquid Chromatography systems.
Dr. Madden has worked in the pharmaceutical industry since 1986. He
has held a number of positions with several international
pharmaceutical companies, primarily within research and development
and also has experience in commercial manufacturing. Prior to joining
ICON Development Solutions Dr. Madden was Senior Director of
Analytical Sciences for the Elan Corporation, in the development
of modified release solid oral dosage forms from conception through
NDA submission.
Dr. Madden has published in areas of adsorption mechanisms in HPLC,
novel degradation chemistry in formulated products and contributed
to texts on In Vitro-In Vivo correlations.
Dr. Madden is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
