Senior Director, Regulatory Affairs EU
David Shaw recently joined ICON Development Solutions as Senior Director, EU Regulatory Affairs.
David has over 25 years experience in the pharmaceutical and supporting industries with extensive
drug development expertise in the fields of regulatory affairs and non-clinical safety assessment.
He was previously, founder and Director of PharmDev Consulting Services, providing strategic and
scientific advice and support services to the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to this, he held senior
leadership roles as Director, Global Pre-clinical Development, Anti-HIV for J&J PRD and Director,
Development and Regulatory Affairs for Elan Drug Delivery (previously Quadrant Healthcare).
His technical and managerial background in the Pharmaceutical and Contract Research industries
includes international regulatory affairs with Astra, and programme management and toxicology with
Covance. David’s career began in the toxicology department at Glaxo following postgraduate research
at the Medical Research Council, Carshalton and being awarded a PhD in Biochemistry from the University
of Surrey.
